   Dr. Vashonna Etienne

Vashonna Etienne is a wife and mother of three wonderful children. She was born to a single mother in the Bronx and never had a relationship with her father. Prior to pursuing her educational goals, Vashonna spent most of her adolescent years surviving in a community that wasn’t always kid friendly. She grew up in a one bedroom apartment that housed five people which included her mother, brother, cousin, and her great aunt, who is cognitively impaired. Her life circumstances were not favorable. She attributes her childhood as the motivating factor for pursuing her dreams of making an impact in the world.

As the Founding Executive Director at The Center for Counseling and Holistic Services, Vashonna dedicates each day teaching men, women, and couples how to transform their pain into possibility. She is a graduate of Hunter College, holds a Master's of Social Work, and completed her Doctorate of Social Work at Rutgers University.

Vashonna’s experience as a director of social services and a licensed psychotherapist has become the cornerstone of her professional and leadership development. Her style is unique and refreshing, as she helps people reach their greatest potential. With compassion and a commitment to the long term well-being of her clients, Vashonna adopts a wholesome clinical approach that is insightful, motivational, and inspirational.
